| Hugh Nelson Walpole, Bass, Vocals |
Hugh Nelson Walpole was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 24, 1948 (but doesn't remember it). At an early age, he was transplanted to the southwestern Missouri Ozarks. On his sixth birthday, he was given piano lessons he did not want or ask for. However, he did learn to love music, taking up drums, electric bass and guitar by his fourteenth birthday. By then, he had been gigging professionally on bass and piano for a year and has continued until today. Hugh has worked in rock, blues, traditional R&B, jazz and country styles and was an on-call studio staffer for KWTO radio and Top Talent Inc. in Springfield, Missouri. In 1966 Hugh played in Vietnam, and in the Canal Zone and the Carribean in 1967, as a member of a U.S. Dept. of State tour band. He is also a registered BMI songwriter (no hits yet). He would still like to tour Scandinavia and Europe and hope life takes him there in the future. Hugh's nonmusical hobbies include hiking, revolver shooting, tropical fish (cichlids) and most standard vices. |
